Amongst the many joint initiatives in the world, Grunneger Power has been having a steady and interesting growth throughout community grounds in Groningen. The vision of a society that is able to produce the energy it consumes, the mission to raise awareness and interest in solar energy and other renewable resources and the enthusiasm on local activity and collaboration leads one to the conclusion that this cooperative has an enormous potential to grow even further, not only towards its sustainable practices but also in alignment with nature and encouraging people to the development of their personal responsibility.
The reintegration of human activity with the natural processes of the earth will not come by the “higher authorities”. Neither the shift in paradigms and the development towards a more holistic approach. It will arise from the bottom up and that takes time and energy, which are the real values for me. This will ultimately be seeing as a need and it is already unfolding. Group actions through peer production and cooperation, reviewing and recovering forgotten lifestyles, recycling, diversity of opinions, local agriculture by permaculture and renewable energy, among many other solutions are still in the order of the day. Especially when we consider their impact on the planet and its population and consider the welfare of future generations. Growth is necessary for our evolution, not only physically but also technological, sociological and cultural.

Entre as muitas iniciativas conjuntas no mundo de hoje, a cooperativa Grunneger Power tem criado interesse constante na comunidade da cidade de Groningen. A visão de uma sociedade que é capaz de produzir a energia que consome, a missão de sensibilização e interesse na energia solar e outras fontes renováveis, e o entusiasmo no trabalho local me levam a concluir de que esta cooperativa tem enorme potencial para crescer ainda mais, não só por suas práticas sustentáveis, mas também pelo alinhamento com a natureza e incentivo às pessoas para desenvolverem sua própria responsabilidade.
Desde que vim para a Holanda, concentro-me na minha formação como urbanista, com um foco especial na responsabilidade social relacionada à identificação das dinâmicas do espaço comunitário. Agora empenhado em estudar o metabolismo das cidades (através de uma abordagem holística) com o objetivo de aplicar os resultados destes estudos no desenvolvimento de novos paradigmas para nossa sociedade.
A reintegração da atividade humana com os processos naturais da Terra não virá através de ‘autoridades superiores’. Assim como as mudanças de paradigma e de desenvolvimento para uma visão mais inclusiva da aventura humana. Ela virá de baixo para cima e isso leva tempo e energia, os verdadeiros valores. Isso ocorrerá e já está acontecendo. Ações em grupo, produção colaborativa, a revisão de formas de vida já quase esquecidas, a diversidade, a agricultura local, a reciclagem e as energias renováveis, entre muitas outras boas soluções, ainda estão na ordem do dia. Especialmente quando estudamos seus efeitos em toda a população da Terra e o bem-estar das gerações futuras.
O crescimento é importante para nossa evolução, não necessariamente físico, mas também tecnológico, social e cultural.
